Forever present at the sector´s major exhibitions and trade fairs, this Basque company stands at the cutting-edge of the techniques in greatest demand on the market in terms of both manufacture and design.

Biplax has an R&D Department, currently headed by Iñigo Zuluaga, which besides being charged with the design and development of new products is also involved in the enhancement of processes and the research into new materials.

In addition to relying on its own design team, Biplax also collaborates with designers of such international renown as: Miguel Ángel Ciganda, Pascual Salvador, Item, Tore Wroldsen, CDN and Sergio Valladares.

Biplax was the first Spanish company manufacturing office seating to be awarded the ISO-9001 certificate by AENOR, which guarantees that all the company´s departments operate in accordance with established procedures to ensure the quality of the process of design, manufacture, delivery and of the after-sales service. These procedures are audited and reviewed yearly.

The raw materials employed (foams, fabrics, paints, chrome plating, etc.) are regularly subjected to quality controls on the part of Cidemco.

The End Product and Raw Material Certificates ensure that the chair complies with requirements regarding dimensions, safety and strength dictated by European EN and Spanish UNE standards. All the products are tested in accordance with said standards by officially recognised laboratories.

Moreover, Biplax recently received ISO 14001 certification for environmental management, awarded by AENOR. For several years now, Biplax has been introducing systems into its production processes that have enabled the company to minimise its environmental impact. The recycling of materials, low-consumption production processes, the use of packaging systems that are easy to recycle and non-polluting and the minimisation of waste in the production process are some of the measures that the Basque company has taken since its creation.

Also worthy of mention is the EKOSCAN diploma awarded in 2001 by IHOBE, a publicly-owned company dependent on the Basque Government for the protection of the environment, which was given to Biplax for its active work in this field and its efforts to minimise environmental impact.
